THE WARRIOR FIGHT WOF EXPLAINED

The Warrior Fight WOF is a 6 week programme that emulates a fight camp in a controlled environment. Before you can become a fighter at WTA you will need to complete and pass the WOF. Let’s break down the need to knows before you sign up to this programme.

How does it work?

The Warrior Fight WOF will test your fitness, technique, conditioning and most importantly your character. We’re big believers in building good humans first; then great fighters. Thats why a fundamental part of our WOF focuses on your inner fighter and the qualities you’ll need to go the distance in life and in the ring too.

What sort of training can I expect?

The training regime is gruelling for a reason. We’re giving you the closet possible experience to a real fight camp to help determine your readiness. Everyone in the programme will attend classes, participate in sprints, hill runs and shark tanks. You’ll experience conditioning training that calls you to perform under stress (much like a real fight) so that you can pull on your fitness under pressure. You will also have 1-1 training that focuses on your technical gaps so we can sharpen you up and have you ring ready.

How do I weight cut properly?

We’ll prescribe a fight-weight for you from the start. From there we’ll supply you with the science and support required to meet fight weight in safe manner. If you need help with nutrition, we’ve got you. If you want to outsource your meal-prep and have everything taken care of by a qualified chef, we’ve got you.

Our Head Fight trainer has run 50+ fight camps in his career and not one of his fighters has not met weight. We know our stuff and we’re committed to getting you to goal safely and thriving.

What if I can’t make a session?

We all have our own commitments and sometimes life gets in the way. In the past we’ve had students, parents, business owners or contractors who are working 50+ hours a week alongside the WOF. Sometimes you can’t make a class or session— we get that. We’ll work with you from the get-go to build the plan around your life as much as possible. You can do catch up sessions and share your progress with us in our group app. The key is communicating with us up front about how you do life so we can work with you.

How soon after the WOF can I fight?

You could be fighting in as little as 4 weeks. The beauty of this is that you’ll be close to fight weight and have been working hard on your skills already. We’ll look to match you on our Underground shows for your debut fight experience. These events are alcohol and drug free. Our audience is invested, supportive and genuinely interested in seeing the latest fight talent available in Wellington.

What if I don’t pass the WOF?

It’s a bit like going for a WOF on your car. If you don’t pass our Head Fight Trainer, Regy Yamat will come up with a plan for you. This will outline the key areas that need to be retested and the timeframe required. We’ll work with you to make sure you have all the support you need and get you on the road to the ring in no time.

I’ve fought elsewhere. Do I have to do the WOF?

No, however you will need to work through a four week programme formulated to test your skills. Fighting for WTA is not just about your experience. We’re interested in the skills you bring to the table, teaching you the WTA striking systems and most importantly testing your character.

I’M READY TO FIGHT!

Let’s get you enrolled in the next Warrior Fight WOF and on your way to ring ready.
